Taraf de GadjoEtnoculturèe festival

  • Visitor Center Jazz Gattini 15 07 2010 - 21:30:00 | 01:00:00
"Taraf de Gadjo" is a term derived from turkish-Romanian Romany-which indicates an orchestral gypsy (side) composed of non-Roma musicians (gadjo): our group, born in summer 2006, ha lo scopo di far conoscere la musica dei Rom dell'Europa dell'est; the hectic pace of the dances around the fire, instruments sounding archaic, magic, seductive, mysterious and powerful music that is lost in the mists of time ... so rich in history, of charm and mystery. We are conscious that, as for all ethnic music, la musica dei Rom sia possibile solo “interpretarla” senza cercare di fare una cattiva copia del loro modo di suonare assolutamente originale e inimitabile...abbiamo cercato, then, to express it to "our way" and bring it to life as we feel!
The Taraf program focuses specifically on Roman music air between Hungary, Romania and Russia; songs and traditional Klezmer and Manouches (Gypsy Jazz). "Taraf de Gadjo" trying somehow to convey the freedom that this music emanates, absorbing the force of these rhythms so compelling and overwhelming, full of pathos, of vitality and passion. We have included in our program because klezmer music forms of music in this genre are in some respects very similar to that of the Gypsy. Klezmer is the Jewish instrumental folk music of Eastern Europe; is generated within the Jewish communities of Eastern Europe, in particular communities khassidiche, and property and prerogative of musicians who by choice or compulsion are in constant motion: There is evidence found in Germany, magiari, bohemians, Bulgarian, Transylvanian, Turkish, Greek, Ukrainian, in addition to the influence of music tzigana.I klezmorim were traveling musicians, and brought the secular music (vocal and instrumental) at weddings and feasts. Their instruments were violins, viol, il dulcimer, flutes, brass and percussion.
